Cover Letter Mastery Scholarship
At CareerToolbelt, we think we know a thing or two about what it takes to write a job-winning cover letter. Unfortunately, it can be a difficult skill to grasp and even harder to master. And yet, it can be the difference between getting your dream job or not. That’s why we created the Cover Letter Mastery Scholarship—to give students a chance to refine this skill while earning financial support for their education. The current job market is incredibly competitive, so a standout cover letter can be what gets you noticed by hiring managers. It’s an opportunity to showcase your qualifications, while also weaving hints of your personality into them.
The Scholarship
The Cover Letter Mastery Scholarship offered by CareerToolbelt.com is designed to support students who are looking to improve their cover letter writing skills and stand out in today’s competitive job market. The scholarship offers $750 to one deserving student who demonstrates creativity, critical thinking, passion, and excellence in crafting a job-winning cover letter. This can be used toward tuition, books, or other education-related expenses. What makes this scholarship unique is that it focuses on a skill that has immediate, real-world applications. Crafting a strong cover letter is not so much an academic exercise as it is a skill for getting hired and launching your career.

- Must be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student enrolled in an accredited institution.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

- Students outside the US are encouraged to apply as well, as long as they can meet the same eligibility requirements (or country equivalents).
How to Apply
To apply for the Cover Letter Mastery Scholarship, complete the form below. For context, you’ll need to give us a real job listing (copy/paste is fine). Ideally, this job listing should represent your dream job and will serve as the inspiration for your cover letter. You’re welcome to submit your resume as well if you want to paint a complete picture, but only the cover letter will be used to judge a winner. You will also need to provide us with the following:
- A copy of a current transcript
- A letter of recommendation
- Proof of enrollment/acceptance
Scanned copies are fine, as long as the necessary information is easily seen.
Note: All application materials must be submitted in English.
Dates and Miscellaneous
All entries must be received by April 15th, 2025. All applicants will receive an email notification of the results, with the winner announced on May 5th, 2025. If the selected winner cannot accept the scholarship, an alternate winner will be chosen. The winner must agree to having their image and basic information listed, as we’ll need this for the formal announcement. Good luck!
